Pastors David and Katie Kaylor both have deep roots in Central and Eastern Washington. David grew up as a missionary kid in Japan but his family have lived and worked in Central and Eastern Washington since the late 1800s .
Katie’s family, like so many others, came in the 50’s with the water. Her happiest childhood memories are on the family apple orchard in the Frenchman hills outside of Quincy. After the family orchard was sold, Katie’s dad went into pastoral ministry and has been pastoring faithfully in Quincy now for over 30 years.
Each year our leadership team gathers and we pray and fast about our focuses for the year. In 2023 and beyond our focus is on these three things:” to “Each year our leadership team gathers to fast and pray about our focuses for the year. During one of these gatherings we felt like the Holy Spirit asked us to focus on three main pillars of the church
1. Prayer: This is the engine of our church; where we ask for God’s guidance, power and presence for His church. The work we are about is a spiritual work and it is only by His spirit moving and working through us that His work will be accomplished. 2. Outreach: As we pray more, God begins to share His burden for Wenatchee and those who don’t know or have walked away from Him. We believe that this is a big part of God’s heart and want to focus on reaching out to our community and inviting those who don’t know God into a relationship with him. 3. Life Groups: This is where so much of the Christian life happens! We share our stories, study the word of God and uplift each other in community! So much of what we are called to do as Christians, happens in the context of Life Groups.
The following are the core beliefs of Hope Church For Wenatchee based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these Biblical doctrines.
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Humans, both male and female, were created in God’s image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God’s creations.
When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God’s kingdom on earth.
